Using InDesign
Setup your Preferences this way:
Preferences
Units & increments:
File Menu > Document Setup (to save these settings for future book designs)
File Menu > New Document
Make sure Facing Pages box is Not ticked
Enter your custom size dimensions:
Square book: 20 in wide x 10 in high
Vertical book: 18 in wide x 18 in high
Horizontal book: 24 in wide x 9 in high
Panovista book: 20 in wide x 16 in high
If using dimensions closer to your book size, make sure they are the same print aspect ratio as the dimensions above.
Final Spread
Remember to save and export spreads as JPEGs, not as a PDF
If you get export errors when exporting as JPEGs, try this:
- First, export to high resolution EPS in RGB,
- then convert to JPEG in photoshop.
This a second step, but the EPS conversion process makes a basic single piece of information that converts easily to jpeg without losing any detail at all.
